Coco Chanel introduced the “little black dress” in 1926 making it a must have, a household name and the embodiment of fashion. Now, Park Avenue Fashion Week has partnered with the American Heart Association to ensure that every woman in America also has a “little red dress”.

 

 

 

 

 

The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign is the perfect fit as Park Avenue Fashion Week’s event charity since the Go Red symbol is a fashionable red dress, plus PAFW will help to empower Winter Park residents to be proactive about their heart health.

Choosing to Go Red in your own fashion is more than a fashion statement; it’s an effort to save lives from heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women. The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement celebrates the proactive choices women can make to beat heart disease. Go Red raises awareness and inspires women to reduce their risk by learning the steps to prevent it. Thanks to the participation of millions across the country, the color red—and the red dress—represent the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live healthier lives, free from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Park Avenue Fashion Week is a 6-day (October 18th-23rd) celebration of the local fashion retail and design

community. The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and the Park Avenue Area Association set out to create

an event that would represent Winter Park and its fashions. Since it’s conception in 2007, PAFW is held every fall

with a week full of fashionable events hosted by the boutiques of Park Ave. and Hannibal Square. The grand

finale is the fashion show held in downtown Winter Park’s West Meadow Park where a prominent tent display,

designed by New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s venue designers, lights the night sky. Park Avenue

Fashion Week’s goal is to bring the essence of fashion and merge it with function to showcase Winter Park and

its elegance.
